About

Our Chapter Herstory
The Exquisite Eta Chapter of Pi Lambda Chi Latina Sorority, Inc. was founded on April 15, 2017 at the University of Texas at Austin. We are the first chapter of PLC to be founded outside of the state of Colorado, hence our nickname, Texas Chis. Eta Chapter was co-founded by Comadres Denise Morales, Yulissa Colunga, Alessandria Garza, Berenice Ramirez, Maria Ramirez, Adela Rena, and America Sierra.
In our 3 years at UT, our chapter has continued to grow and spread golden radiance to the Austin community. Every day, we strive to uphold our Four Rays of Excellence: Community Service, Academics, Empowerment, and Preserving Latina Culture. As a Latina-based organization, we feel it is important to remember our roots and unique HERstories that make us who we are.
Although our sisterhood is Latina-based, we are not Latina exclusive. We encourage any woman of any race, ethnicity, or background to explore what our sisterhood has to offer.
As sisters, we stand together and empower one another to be the best we can be. No matter where we are, we know our sisters have our backs. ¡Hermanas por Vida!
Our Mission
The Mission of Pi Lambda Chi Latina Sorority, Inc. is to create a strong sisterhood and an educational support network for women on college campuses. Pi Lambda Chi Latina Sorority, Inc. seeks to preserve Latina/o culture and history, as well as to promote education and community service in the Latina/o communities surrounding their campuses.

Our Comadres' Vision
Comadres Denise, Yulissa, Alessandria, Adela, and America envisioned a sisterhood where women in higher education can receive a sense of community by following our national Four Rays of Excellence. Their ultimate goal was to help sisters grow into Fine scholars, leaders, and professionals.
Through their vision and our sisters' contributions, Eta Chapter achieved numerous accolades and individual award recognitions.
As a growing chapter, our Hermanas continue to work hard to achieve our Comadres' goals.
